What spiritual wisdom could seemingly be simpler or more profound than “Be Here Now”? Plenty, depending on your point of view. It’s perfectly fine advice at the third-person perspective (which recognizes the “I” or self perspective, the “You” or second-person perspective, and the “It” or “He/She/They” perspective).
But as the evolution of consciousness delivers the 4th, 5th, and subsequent levels of meaning-making … and as the Lingua-U metalanguage allows grammatical access to the subject/object/subject-objects of these higher levels, “Be Here Now” looks problematic, to say the least. It does not specify the subject of being, the nature of here-ness, or the nature of now-ness.
It is an undefined directive with no coordinates in Space, Time, or Thought indicated. That’s usually not a problem for most people, and it’s basically a spiritual cliche. But it’s a spiritual cliche that gets increasingly dangerous as one ascends in states from gross to subtle to causal … until finally, at nondual states it becomes too vague to be meaningful if you’re lucky or disastrous if you’re unlucky. Because no one in the 21st century should be navigating subtle, causal, or nondual states in a serious way — which by their nature are collective structures, not merely individual feelings — without a Kosmic Map which can help them to get a handle on the Whereness and Whenness of their state-journeys.
We have to be very careful with words in the Audi-Mind or Overmind, the period of time in which causal states are enduring and stable, establishing the territory in which the Letter of Watching, the Letter of Wholeness, and the Letter of Whirling are enacted at the Element of Vowel. Words at this time have the power to create or destroy, and it would be wise to avoid saying things that could have unanticipated consequences, even if those words seemed perfectly ordinary or even wise at earlier levels of development.
There are good reasons that the wise causal state realizers of the East counseled SILENCE. Silence per se isn’t an option for those on the path of Integral Magic, which taps the creative potentiality of The Word, grounded in a quietude of the heart. Just try not to fuck up the universe or multiverse while you’re getting your training wheels on, okay?
In plain language, the words you spoke when your highest self was an egoic mind don’t work anymore when you’re enacting Kosmos. Be careful with your speech.
I can’t tell you the words to use instead of “Be here now”… you must find the words for yourself. Our time is a better time for new mantras than old words.
