The Kalendar Symbol
A last-minute score sends the game into overtime. Overconfident in its risk taking, the team is vanquished nonetheless.
The coach’s goading paid off for a while, but ultimately it could not save the day. The fans rooting for “their” team — let’s call them The Goats — were thrilled at a heart-pounding, exhilarating play in the game’s final moments. The ball was plucked from the air and whirled down the field to achieve a goal almost for the history books. A come-from-behind victory was within reach for The Goats, but there was simply too much fullness. An unexpected play by “the other” team — let’s call them The Cheetas — snatched the title and cup from them in extra time. The metaphor: “moving the goalposts”.
