The Kalendar Symbol
Muslim children performing a ceremonial prayer.
The struggle of living beings to stay alive invariably brings them to a point of deep concern. The problems they face require alleviation, but they may feel helpless and alone. Where is God to be found when the daily meal is absent despite all one has done to earn it? Rising early and donning a quirky gown, alas, even the forlorn may still pray to an aloof or allusive divinity. But the one who hears their prayers is neither truly aloof nor allusive but one who responds to those who have enacted the proper contemplative practices. Allah helps those who are lost get unstuck, if they will arrange themselves like a square in a quilt to the law emanating from the middle of things, a central way that brings the Earth and all living creatures into harmony with each other and the unseen entirety of the quilt.
