The Kalendar Symbol
Through enduring and tending to his own woundedness, Chiron gives a cure to a young person suffering a heavy burden.
The centaur of centaurs in Greek mythology, Chiron was the son of a Titan and an Ocean-nymph. He delivered wisdom and justice to mortal humans above and beyond the capacities of other centaurs. He was especially gifted in mentoring youth in medicine, music, archery, gymnastics, and spiritual communication. Noted for his kindness and civility, Chiron tutored Hercules in making a poison arrow. Hercules repaid him by poisoning Chiron with the arrow he helped him to make. Although renowned as a healer, Chiron could not heal himself and he had to live with incredible pain.
