The Kalendar Symbol
A spiritual guru shops for clothing in a modern retail store that displays an abundance of products arranged meticulously.
The gap between the ways of the world and transcendent realities is great and not great. Even the greatest spiritual achievers have to feed and clothe themselves and attend to ordinary affairs. The ones who know Advaita can fill the gap with their realization of “not twoness”. But this is no consolation when a gaffe gets them arrested for shoplifting or disrupting the peace! After all, “not two” is not a very specific Kosmic Address. An adult takes shopping bags in one hand and the hand of a child in the other and goes out of the store.
