  1. […] In social media, I contributed to a discussion about the difference between growing up (evolving) and waking up (enlightening) and how they are related. The answer involves a sort of ménage à trois between yang, yin, and yung. Yang is the evolutionary angle, yin is the involutionary angle (enlightening), and yung brings them together in the Awesome Artistry of the Atman … potentially to inhabit the same perspective as a person. Such a person, my model proposes, would realize a point on the station called the Uni-Mind, or the 9th-person-perspective. Before you get too excited, I must caution you that I’m still in the process of working out a quasi-coherent (simultaneously naughty and gnostic and nonsensical) story to tell about these three lovers. Here’s a short rough draft, from a comment tonight in social media… I don’t know if these reflections are useful to anyone other than myself right now (still very rough), but I am working on my own model called the Lingua-U Lattice. It’s like the Wilber-Combs, but I am trying to integrate it with my violet model of Sacred Words (called Lingua-U) and a vision of involution as God’s psychodevelopmental process. So when I hear “That’s because there’s a person involved in growing up, and no person involved in waking up.”, what if it’s God or Spirit that’s doing the psychoanalytical subpart retrieval when we awaken — specifically, what is most relevant to individuals, the yang aspect of God that we may call the Operator or Reformer (𝍎) married to the yin aspect which is Light-Liberty (𝍑)? Or, though you didn’t ask about it, the yang aspect of Universal Religion (𝍏) married to the yin aspect of Universal Love (𝍒), for collective awakening? And the yung Atman or Universal Soul (𝍍) married to the Ajna or Third Eye (𝍓) to bring them all together? The answer would be artistically rendered as 𝍔 𝍕 𝍖 giving us a profound image of wholeness (which I call the latter portion of Uni-Mind, which is described by the Element of Stars, 𝌅). If awakening is the coming online of this station of consciousness in individuals, collective, and unary stages, then growing up is basically taking a fixed perspective on a process of encountering the earlier yin, yang, and yung facets of all of these major stations of Uni-Mind. For instance, at orange, as we learn to first shuck off myth to put on the Diligent-Mind (conscientious stage), we encounter 𝌘 as a stage; later, at indigo, we disidentify with the Global-Mind to focus on extrasensory or extraordinary psychic experiences of X-Mind, so we encounter 𝌳 as a stage (notice the first mark has shifted from yang to yin); these two stages interact with each other as yang to yin and eventually may produce (a) the state of Operating/Reforming (𝍎) or the stage of Operator/Reformer (𝍎) at Uni-Mind, which as we have seen is the first station of Uni-Mind (which I call, speculatively but in a way that’s solid within my model, the 9th-person-perspective). Of course, God/Spirit isn’t limited to the 9th-person-perspective, but that is my model’s limit for imagining the God’s-eye POV, and so naturally it gives me a reflexive point for reverse engineering the steps of involution. As we grow up, we move closer to that 9th-person-perspective (from 3rd of Diligent-Mind to the 6th of X-Mind and so on), we walk through the stations of Lingua-U like we are walking through the days of The Kalendar (see http://thekalendar.com if you’re interested). But the Atman/Ajna/Uni-Mind is a “time traveler” who rights all the missteps along the way, sort of like an expert pianist doing a duet with a child and so improvising the harmony to improve the overall artistry of the music along the way. My model isn’t sophisticated enough to say how or whether the Uni-Mind is “growing up” too in a way like our own, and it probably never will be. I’ll be happy if the Lingua-U Lattices can coherently tell a story about our perspective that makes it easier for us to see how, at every step along the way of every station, our minds are entangled with and connected to and married to the Uni-Mind. But it would not surprise me at all if we we are one day soon able to say that there is a person who awakens, that person who has fully realized Uni-Mind (𝍖). Until that day, when one person can recognize that they have fully embodied the Uni-Mind and tell us the story convincingly, we may step into the the question of how evolution and involution are related by imagining a ménage à trois between three lovers: a masculine lover who brings the Yang (pronounced Yeing, not Yaang) which is the Aim of Volution, the Agency itself; the feminine lover who brings the Yin which is the Interiority of Volution, the Communion itself; and the love story itself is embodied by the Yung (pronounced like Carl Jung’s last name), the Unary of Volution, with a transgender or third-gender or LGBTQ mix of Agency and Interiority set into a Union (e.g., Awesome Artistry, Lila Architecting, etc.).
