In the final books of The Kalendar Series, humankind faces its most devastating challenge at the Nadir (2,111 CE): The Doomsday Scenario.
In the Days of the Blue Castle, the world’s civilizations have suffered a collapse of monumental proportions. The world’s storehouses of electronic knowledge and the computer systems necessary to access them have failed. The electrical systems have been obliterated. We have long since lost touch with satellites. But there are books containing words in many different languages. And there are wise elders, though these elders disagree among themselves regarding the proper meaning of things and how to go about organizing society. Therefore rule has fallen to the strongest and the most ruthless: gangs, pirates, and criminal enterprises.
The way of putting the world back together starts again with Lingua-U: a metalanguage, an atlas, a numbering system, a magical divination system, and a calendar. It contains a node for all the words of the world’s languages, and a spot for every Kosmic Address recorded by the elders of the Blue Castle from an infant’s symbiotic awareness to the highest stages of nondual ternary, nonternary quaternary, and nonquaternary quintenary realizations.
Books are scarce; most were burned for warmth. There are no stable churches. But there are oral traditions which have risen to make sense of the Apocalypse. Many survivors of the Nadir have memorized sacred Books such as The Bible and The Koran and The Kalendar. Oral traditions tell the stories of Wisdom once more, as elders (women and men in their thirties or forties) scrawl Tai Hsuan Ching marks and Arabic characters with sticks in the mud. Human beings come and go in the wildlands, but hope remains on the other side of the Nadir.
These are the days of Nature in the Dark Night of the World … but according to The Kalendar, a new civilization will rise in the Third Millennium CE that is more Actualized, Wise, Humane, Realized, and Lightened than any before. It began, after the Nadir, with the return of Magic.
And deep in the jungles of South America, psychic voyagers travel with their minds in time to change the past, and receive help from one of the Worlds of the Timelines of Naif which were spared the Nadir.
