Pet peeve of the day. I just want to say that I often find many True Self teachers incredibly annoying (these folks are usually but not always inspired by Zen or Western Buddhism) when they teach about the worthlessness of words. Isn’t it obvious these folks are SPIRITUAL BYPASSING big-time by leaving out the subtle realizations and trying to go straight to causal? Yikes.
Whatever else you want to say about the subtle realm (in particular, Station Six and Station Seven corresponding to Indigo and Violet), it is great for Map-Making. And with a pretty good Map, you start to realize that Station Eight — Audi-Mind or Overmind — is only 10% about the Witness realized in formless meditations (e.g., Vipassana), and that Witnessing (detaching from the “mind”) is merely the earliest and most basic part of Station Eight. But to listen to a typical True Self teacher, that’s all there is. They have a rotten map.
