The Kalendar Symbol
A powerful person lifts up a weaker one on their shoulders.
The work of social transitions proceeds like so: those who were once weak have become strong in the shoulders, so they may lift up those who are still weak. In this manner is equanimity won in the social soul in the form of equitable social relations. The shoulder is the most mobile joint in the body; however, it is also unstable owing to a limited range of allowable motion. A society imperils itself that attempts to transition more weight through its limited range than its muscular infrastructure can support.
