The Kalendar Symbol
A young Chinese girl sitting on the grass fondling a little white lamb.
She sits in a pasture with yellow flowers in bloom, petting one of the lambs in her father’s care. It’s a warm day, so the sheep are outside in the sunshine and plenty of shade for grazing. She even tastes a bit of the sheep’s clover, hay, and grass (but it doesn’t taste very good). She lets the lamb lick salt from her palm. Every day she is learning more and more about the lambs, their likes and dislikes, and how to keep their soft white fur clean and pretty. One day, she will be old enough to care for the lambs all by herself. She might even shear them!
